Why I Left My 9-to-5 to Become a Sacramento Real Estate Agent

There was a time not so long ago when my days were neatly packed into eight-hour shifts. I had a good job. Structured. Predictable. I showed up, I did the work, and I went home. I was successful in sales—but I wasn’t fulfilled. There was this persistent feeling inside, this whisper: There’s something more out there for you.
So, I listened. I left the comfort of that paycheck and the rhythm of that routine, and I dove headfirst into the wild, unpredictable world of real estate here in Sacramento.
What I found was purpose.
Because real estate—at least the way I do it—isn’t just about selling houses. It’s about helping people find home. That elusive, deeply personal place where life happens. Where someone walks in and just knows: this is it. Their future lives here.
As a Sacramento real estate agent, I get to be part of that moment. I get to guide someone through the search—not just for a house, but for belonging. And let me tell you, the search is half the fun. The excitement, the anticipation, the dreams unfolding room by room… it never gets old.
But it’s not always about beginnings. Sometimes, it’s about endings. Transitions. Helping someone say goodbye to a home they’ve built over years—where their kids took their first steps, where holidays were hosted, where real life unfolded. Letting go of that space can be deeply emotional. And it’s my job to hold that space with care, to walk them into their next chapter with clarity and calm.
This work is personal. Emotional. Intimate.
You meet someone who’s a stranger on Monday, and by Friday you’re talking about their life goals, family dynamics, finances, dreams, fears. It’s a fast-track into connection. And sometimes, when the deal closes, there’s this weird little letdown—because you’ve just been through something real together. But the friendships? So many of them stay. And that’s the part I never expected when I first got into this.
This isn’t a sales job for me. It’s service. It’s heart.
And now I want to build. Not out of scarcity—but from a place of abundance. I want to work with more people, walk with them through these major life moments, and be the kind of agent who truly shows up—not just when it’s convenient, but when it matters.
So here’s my ask:
If you or someone you know is thinking about buying or selling a home in Sacramento—and they need someone who will genuinely listen, advocate, and care—send them my way.
Even if they already have someone. Even if they’re just in the early stages. Let’s talk.
Because this career? This journey I took when I left my 9-to-5?
It led me here—for a reason.
And I still believe the search is the best part.
